The seismic study programme of Kosmos Energy and Cairn Energy offshore occupied Western Sahara ended on 12 April.
The picture above shows the vessel BGP Prospector (to the right) last time she docked in Las Palmas port, in 2013, after a study for French oil company Total in nearby waters. Total later departed Western Sahara. The exploration of the US oil company Kosmos Energy and the Scottish company Cairn Energy in the Boujdour Maritime block wrapped up on Wednesday April 12.
The four vessel flotilla, led by the seismic survey vessel BGP Prospector, has dispersed. Two of the ships, including the BGP Prospector, were on 13 April at a dock in Las Palmas.

Morocco is holding Western Sahara under illegal military occupation and prevents the self-determination process to conclude. Kosmos has held interests in Western Sahara since 2004, and never sought the consent of the people of the territory as is required.
